I work with individuals, couples and families in all stages of life. My approach is based in structural and Bowen family systems theories which consider the important family and relational dynamics that influence all of us. The assessments and interventions I use come from emotionally focused therapy, the Gottman method and discernment counseling.
As a Christian, I recognize that one's spiritual life can be a source of strength in both resiliency and the healing process. I personally practice endurance through faith, exercise, self-care, time outdoors and enjoying life with my husband of more than ten years.
I value privacy, self-determination and empathy in my work with clients. I have treated issues related to depression, anxiety, infidelity, grief, loss, infertility, divorce, serious illness, parenting, family stage transitions, deployment, post-military readjustment, caregiver stress, military sexual trauma, combat trauma, traumatic brain injury and post-traumatic stress.
